DANVILLE, Va. — The Averett University men's lacrosse team overwhelmed Warren Wilson College 25-4 on Saturday night on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium. The Cougars tallied 14 first half goals to create an early advantage and never looked back.
Averett (2-0) saw three or more goals from five different Cougars. Seniors,
Parker Corbett,
Tyler Moodie and
Mike Michaud all tallied five goals each and Corbett also added six assists. The five goals matched the program single-game record, and the six assists was a new single-game record. Parker's 11 points also set a new single-game record for the Cougars.
The Cougars began the game 5-0 and carried a 5-1 lead into the second quarter of play. Averett then rattled off nine goals in the second period followed by eight in the third.
Senior
Mason Foy notched four goals and two assists while sophomore
Connor Taff added two goals and two assists each.
The Cougars return to action on Friday when they travel to Ferrum College for the Blue Ridge Classic.
