2020-21 RECORD: 9-22 (7-11 USA South)
2021-22 OUTLOOK: Averett baseball battled through an up-and-down unconventional spring season but managed to put together their most conference wins and best winning percentage since 2016. This season, the Cougars will lean heavily on the young core that sprung this team to the most conference wins since 2016 last year. Averett, voted sixth in the East Division preseason poll, will be challenged early in the non-conference part of the schedule to set the Cougars up for success when conference play starts. Averett will rely on strong pitching from veterans on the mound and some new found power hitting at the plate. This is a team that has depth everywhere on the field which head coach Kenny Fleming is most excited about.
