Demorest, Ga. — The Averett University women's lacrosse team rolled past Piedmont University 12-7 on Sunday afternoon.

Averett (3-1, 1-0 USA South) fell down 4-3 to Piedmont (3-4, 0-1 USA South) at the end of the first quarter. The Cougars did not allow more then one goal in a quarter after that and out scored the Lions 9-3 the rest of the way.Â

Elizabeth Peasley scored one goal on 10 shots and added an assist while freshman
Faith Bowlin scored three goals and also added an assist. Junior
Raven Felder also netted a hat trick for the Cougars.Â

Averett returns to action on March 17 when it hosts Juniata College at 3:30 p.m. on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.Â
