GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Averett University women's lacrosse team blew past Greensboro College 22-0 on Tuesday afternoon on Pride Field.
Averett (6-3, 3-1 USA South) saw graduate student
Elizabeth Peasley score seven goals for the second game in a row as she also tallied one assist for the game. The Cougars were able to shut out Greensboro (0-6, 0-4 USA South) for their third win in USA South play.
Averett scored 14 goals in the first half to earn a commanding halftime lead.
Junior
Raven Felder scored four goals for the Cougars as fellow junior
Kelsey Steckroth also added three goals.
Freshman
Faith Bowlin scored two goals and added three assists while freshman
Rachel Rios and
Kat Jay scored a goal each.
Seniors,
Hannah Mae Ayers and Courtney Delone combined for three goals and two assists. Junior
Morgan Dearing added one goal and one assist for the Cougars as well.
Averett returns to action on Saturday when it hosts William Peace University for Senior Day on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium at 4 p.m.
