DANVILLE, Va. —Averett University volleyball announced its 2022 schedule. The Cougars open their first season as members of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference under first-year head coach Olivia Earls on Sept. 2 at home in the two-day 28th Annual Cougar Classic.

"I am excited for our team to return to campus so that we can get to work preparing for our inaugural season in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference," Earls said. 
On opening day, the Cougars will face Piedmont University and Meredith College on Sept 2. On Sept. 3, the Cougars face Bob Jones University and William Peace University.

The Cougars travel to Mount Berry, Georgia, for the Berry College National Invitational. They are set to face Covenant College, Berry and Oglethorpe University at that tournament.

The Cougars kick off their first game in the ODAC on the road against Hollins University on Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. Averett hosts their first ODAC home game against the University of Lynchburg on Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.

The Cougars have a key matchup at home against Washington and Lee University on Oct. 1 at 12 p.m. In their 2021 season, the Cougars beat Washington and Lee 3-0 at home.

On Oct. 19, the Cougars face the University of Mary Washington for their Senior Night at 7 p.m.

The Cougars have another key matchup on Oct. 25 against Roanoke College at 7 p.m. 

The Cougars travel to Atlanta to compete in the Emory University Invitational. Oct. 21, they face the College of Wooster at 4 p.m., and Emory at 7 p.m. On Oct. 22, the Cougars go against St. Mary's College of Maryland.

Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament play is scheduled to start Nov 2.
