The Series: Averett is 3-12 all-time against CNU dating back to 2001 when they were both members of the USA South Athletic Conference. Averett is 1-5 all-time against the Captains at CNU with the lone win coming in 2010. After a seven-year break in the series, the Cougars won last season's matchup 30-27 in overtime in Danville.
