MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Averett University volleyball team fell in four sets this afternoon against Oglethorpe University to wrap up play at the Berry College National Invitational on Saturday.
The Cougars fell in Sets 1and 2 by scores of 25-23, 25-16 before taking Set 3 by a score of 25-23 and eventually falling in Set 4 25-23.
Junior
Erin Gray lead Averett in defensive efforts totaling 32 digs in the match. Sophomore
Kinsley Stevens recorded 32 assists while offensively, junior
Sarah Marlowe recorded 12 kills and senior
Jessica Beam recorded 10.
Marlowe was named to the all-tournament team.
Averett is back in action Tuesday, Sept. 13 when it takes on Greensboro College on the road with first serve set for 7 p.m.
