ASHLAND, Va.- The Averett University volleyball team took down Randolph-Macon College 3-1 today, snapping the Yellow Jackets nine-game winning streak on the road Friday evening.
Averett (8-5, 3-0 ODAC) came out ready to battle with Randolph-Macon (9-2, 2-1 ODAC) as both teams would exchange leads until halfway through the first set when Randolph-Macon would take set one 25-12.
Averett would bounce back in the second set, firing on all cylinders taking down the Yellow Jackets 25-22. The Cougars would take sets three and four both by scores of 25-20. The Cougar defense would hold the Yellow Jackets to hitting just a .027 in the final set.

Morgan Barnes led the team in hitting percentage with a .381, while junior
Emma Nash led the team in kills with 13. Sophomore setter
Kinsley Stevens handed out 20 assists while freshman Dayton More totaled 18 assists. Junior
Erin Gray led defensive efforts totaling 21 digs in the match.
Averett is back in action tomorrow at noon when it faces Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe, Virginia Wesleyan on the road.
