The Events: This is the first time the two teams have met.
Averett at a Glance : The Cougars, ranked No. 22 in the nation in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III tournament team rankings, enter their fifth dual competition with a 10-6 record. In their last dual competition, the Cougars defeated the University of Mount Union 40-6. Graduate student Alex Turley won Old Dominion Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week honors. Sophomore Mason Barrett is ranked number eight in the NWCA national rankings at 125 pounds. In the 157-pound weight class Sophomore Jesse Alvarado is ranked seventh in the nation and is currently 16-0 overall. The Cougars currently have seven regionally ranked wrestlers.
