DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University women's basketball had two score in double figures as the Cougars lost an Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup 75-47 to Washington and Lee University on Wednesday afternoon in the Grant Center.

Washington and Lee (10-3, 7-0 ODAC) stayed unbeaten in conference play by building an early 14-6 lead after one quarter. The Generals turned that eight-point advantage into a 43-18 lead by halftime and maintained control throughout the second half.
Freshmen
Elisa Harris and
Taylor Ray led Averett's offense with 13 points each, which was a career-high for Ray. Sophomore
Olivia Garner had a team-high eight rebounds to go with three steals, and junior
Jihnez Hutchinson had seven rebounds.
Averett (2-11, 0-7 ODAC) had 13 steals as a team.
Washington and Lee shot 41.3 percent from the floor and knocked down 11 3-pointers to aid the Generals' cause.
The Cougars host Hollins University on Saturday at 2 p.m.
