FARMVILLE, Va. — The Averett University men's golf B Team placed 11th at the 74th annual Virginia State Golf Association Intercollegiate which concluded Tuesday at The Manor Golf Club.
Hamden-Sydney College's A Team won the tournament on its home course at 2-under for a 13-stroke victory.

Johnny Stewart improved his score by five strokes on the second day, shooting a 1-over 73 to finish at 7-over for the tournament in a tie for 25th place. Freshman
Ryan Meadows shot 14-over for two rounds, senior
Fred Koskinen shot 18-over and junior
Hunter Crute shot 20-over. Junior
Alejandro Lucas Nielfa shot 23-over while playing as an individual. Sophomore Alex Vidmo withdrew due to injury.
Christopher Newport University's Owen Cook shot a 3-under 69 on the final day to surge into first place by one stroke and earn medalist honors.
