BALTIMORE, Md. — Averett University women's volleyball split a pair of matches on the road Saturday, sweeping Bryn Mawr College 3-0 before falling to host No. 9 Johns Hopkins University 3-0 to finish the day.
Averett (12-12) eased past Bryn Mawr (3-13) in the opening match of the day by scores of 25-9, 25-19 and 25-21. The Cougars hit .257 as a team, led by senior
Emma Nash's 11 kills and three blocks. Senior Erin Nash totaled 13 digs as sophomore
Dayton Moore had a team-best 19 assists as 15 Cougars got into the action.
Nationally ranked Johns Hopkins (18-3) defeated Averett 25-10, 25-13 and 25-16 to finish the tri-match. Freshman
Ari-anna Smith led the Cougars with nine kills and Gray had 11 digs.
Averett returns home to face Hollins University on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
