ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.- Averett University wrapped up play at the Jean Edge Classic on Sunday with its 72-56 loss to Methodist University.
Methodist jumped out to a 20-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and continued to add to their lead.

Talia Prosper had a team-high 18 points while pulling down a team-high seven rebounds. Redshirt freshman
Amore Kirkland had a second best 11 points. As a team the Cougars pulled down 37 rebounds, had six steals while shooting 30.4 percent from field goal range.
Averett is back in action on Wednesday when they host Washington and Lee University in its Old Dominion Athletic Conference opener.
