GREENSBORO, N.C. - Averett University women's basketball closed out 2023 with a road exhibition loss to Division I North Carolina A&T State University on Saturday 90-30.
After a close first quarter, Averett (4-9, 2-4 ODAC) trailed N.C. A&T (6-5, 0-0 CAA) 14-8. The Aggies' offense erupted for 26 points in the second quarter, taking a 20-point lead into halftime. N.C. A&T scored 23 and 27 points in each quarter of the second half while Averett scored eight points in the third and 12 in the fourth quarter.

Talia Prosper lead the team with seven points and three rebounds, fellow senior
Natija Pate and junior
Jaa Brown had five points each. Senior
Jihnez Hutchinson had a team-high four rebounds.
The Aggies had three players score double digits in the weekend win.
Averett is back in action on Jan. 3 on the road at Guilford with tipoff set for 7 p.m.
