SALEM, Va. — Averett University women's lacrosse lost to No. 16 Roanoke College 17-4 in a conference road matchup on Tuesday afternoon.
Averett (9-3, 4-3 ODAC) only trailed 3-1 after the first quarter, but Roanoke (12-2, 5-1 ODAC) scored six goals in the second to take a 9-1 lead by halftime. The nationally ranked Maroons pulled away in the second half.

Kat Jay had two caused turnovers. Joblon made 14 saves in goal.
Averett returns home to play Randolph-Macon College on Saturday.
