DANVILLE, Va. -Â Averett University men's lacrosse fell at home to Bridgewater College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon 25-7.
Averett (2-8, 0-5 ODAC) sophomore
Jay Etheridge put the Cougars on the board first with his unassisted goal less than 2 minutes into the game. Bridgewater (5-5, 2-2 ODAC) answered a minute and a half later to tie the match up at 1-1. The Eagles scored three unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead before junior
Connor Taff stopped the Eagles run with his goal at 9:05 in the first, putting Averett within one. Bridgewater then answered with a 16 goal run into the half.
Taff paced Averett's offense with a hat trick, marking his fourth hat trick of the year. Etheridge netted two goals and an assist. Freshman

Brayton Powers each had a goal. Sophomore

Cameron Shadduck each had two caused turnovers with Shadduck scooping up six ground balls. In the cage for the Cougars freshman
Cameron Prutzman made 19 saves.
Averett is back in action when it travels to Randolph College on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
