Game Notes: Averett vs. Lynchburg
The Series vs. Lynchburg: Since 1987, Averett is 17-7 against the Hornets. The Cougars won last season 3-0 against Lynchburg in their first matchup as ODAC members, and the Cougars have won five of the past six meetings.
Averett at a Glance: Averett opened the season by going 3-1 at its own Cougar Classic. However, the Cougars are coming off three losses at Case Western Reserve University's quad match over the weekend. Averett lost to the Spartans 3-0, then fell 3-0 to the University of Mount Union and 3-0 to Allegheny College.
Lynchburg at a Glance: The Hornets have won two in a row after opening the year with three consecutive losses at Berea College's tournament. Lynchburg swept Southern Virginia University 3-0 on Sept. 5 and edged Dickinson College 3-1 on a neutral site in Harrisonburg, Virginia, on Saturday.
