The Series: Averett trails the all-time series with Ferrum 9-15. Averett had won the last two before Ferrum won 36-10 earlier this season their first meeting, a non-conference matchup on Sept. 21 in Danville. ... This likely marks the final time Averett and Ferrum will meet in the foreseeable future as Ferrum makes the jump to NCAA Division II next season. The two programs' rivalry goes back to 2000 when Averett's football program began. The two have met every season since, except for the COVID 2020-21 spring season (game was canceled).
