Women's basketball falls at Bridgewater in season finale

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Averett University women's basketball team fell at Bridgewater College on Saturday 64-43.

Bridgewater (17-7, 13-5 ODAC) jumped out to a 15-4 lead after the opening 10 minutes of play. Averett (4-21, 2-16 ODAC) scored eight points in the second quarter, entering halftime with a 31-12 deficit. The Cougars scored 31 points through the last two frames before falling to the Eagles 64-43.

Sophomore Elisa Harris had a team-high eight points, sophomore Skylar Jones chipped in seven points. Junior Jaa Brown had a team-high six rebounds while freshman Jenkins Ervin had five rebounds.
