WEST END, N.C. — Averett University's B Team completed play at Hampden-Sydney College's 7 Lakes Invitational on Monday.
Junior
Hunter Crute led the Cougars with a 25th-place finish after shooting a 20-over-par 162 over two rounds on the par-71, 6,561-yard course. Carnegie Mellon University's Jay Saluja jumped up three spots to steal the win by one stroke with an 8-over 150. Carnegie Mellon's B Team also won the tournament by eight strokes with a 46-over 614.
Averett's B Team shot a collective 132-over 700 or 11th place. In addition to Crute, sophomore
Alexander Vidmo had a top-40 finish at 26-over, freshman
Ryan Meadows shot 37-over and junior
Alejandro Lucas Nielfa finished at 49-over.
