DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University women's lacrosse lost to No. 14 Roanoke College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play, 21-1.
Roanoke (11-3, 6-1 ODAC) left no doubt as to their nationally ranked status as the Maroons controlled play against Averett (1-10, 1-6 ODAC) en route to a convincing victory.
Averett's lone score came in the fourth quarter from junior
Faith Bowlin. Bowlin danced through the Roanoke defense on her way to the net, converting on a strike amidst a crowd of Maroons. Senior
Kaylee Joblon contributed eight saves in defense of the Cougars' net.
Averett is on the road to take on Guilford College on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
