The Series: Averett 3-6 all-time against Randolph-Macon since 2000. The Yellow Jackets swept the Cougars during the regular season after splitting their series in 2023. The last time the two schools met in the postseason, it was in the 2017 NCAA Regional also hosted by Randolph-Macon. Averett upset nationally ranked Randolph-Macon 8-0 in six innings to begin the NCAA postseason, but the Yellow Jackets won an elimination game against the Cougars the following day.

Randolph-Macon at a Glance: The Yellow Jackets tied for the top record in the ODAC, but were awarded the No. 2 seed based on tiebreaker scenarios. Randolph-Macon finished the regular season with a sweep of University of Lynchburg to bounce back from an upset by Roanoke College in the previous series.
Note: The loser between Averett/Randolph-Macon will play the loser of the 2:30 p.m. Guilford College/Roanoke College game at 5 p.m. on Friday. Originally, that elimination game was scheduled for Saturday, but due to inclement weather in the forecast, that game will be played on Friday following the first two games.
