DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University women's soccer fell to the University of Lynchburg in a conference clash.
Averett (1-7-1, 0-3-0 ODAC) fell behind Lynchburg (8-1-1, 3-0-0 ODAC) early and failed to get on the board in a 9-0 loss to the Hornets.
The Cougars fought well in the first half, holding Lynchburg to three goals before the break, but ultimately the Hornets broke through Averett's defense in the late stages of the game. Junior goalkeeper
Tiia Chrons recorded 14 saves in the contest.
Averett is back on the field on Wednesday at 7 p.m. as the Cougars pay a visit to Randolph College.
