FARMVILLE, Va. — Averett University men's basketball lost 92-49 at Division I Longwood University on Sunday afternoon in the Cougars' first game following the holiday break.
Â
Longwood (8-7) jumped out to a quick lead on its way to a 46-17 advantage by halftime. Averett (7-3) fared better in the second half, but the large first-period deficit was too much to overcome.
Junior
Josh Seiler led Averett with 15 points in 17 minutes off the bench, while redshirt sophomore
Timayahs Bracey finished with 11 points.
The loss snapped a three-game win streak for the Cougars, who had entered the holiday break by winning seven of their last eight before taking on the Lancers.
Averett returns to action on Tuesday at Pfeiffer University.
