FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – No. 37 Averett University women's tennis got right back on track after yesterday's events, blanking Gettysburg College, 7-0 on Sunday morning.
Bringing out the same doubles lineup as the previous outing, Averett (1-1) took the 1-0 advantage into singles with comfortable victories.
The singles lineup saw changes, but to much success.
Brenda Poulakidas made her spring debut at No. 2 singles, and defeated Emma Ward from Gettysburg (3-2), 6-2, 6-2.
Amelie Schroeder got the nod at No. 3 singles, and dispatched the Bullets' Shoshi Dondesin straight sets.

Sunna Maass, and
Elisa Battermann concluded the dual with wins as well, completing the flawless win.
The Cougars venture to upper Virginia once more next weekend, playing a slate of matches hosted by Christopher Newport University. Averett plays Methodist University in a neutral site match on Saturday, Feb. 22, with doubles slated to begin at 4 p.m.
