Track & field finishes Liberty's Indoor Open

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Averett University track and field finished off Day 2 at Liberty's Indoor Open on Sunday, as the men's and women's sides competed across a variety of events.

After sprinters had the stage in Day 1 action, distance runners shined for Averett on Day 2. Sophomore Hailey Juhasz scored the Cougars' best finish of the day with a 38th-place run in the women's 400m with a time of 1:03.04. Sophomore Gabrielle Griffin maintained a steady pace in the women's 3000m run. Griffin earned a 49th-place finish with a time 11:46.34. Freshman Hunter Moss scored the best finish of the day for Averett's men. Moss raced his way to a 64th-place result in the men's 3000m. Sophomore Ke'Vannio Smith followed closely behind Moss, as Smith posted a 76th-place finish in the men's 400m, thanks to a time of 55.11 seconds. The men's 4x400m relay team earned a 19th-place result, clocking a time of 3:45.24.

The Cougars will be back in action next week for Roanoke's Joe LaRocco Invitational on Saturday, February 15th.
