DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University women's lacrosse fell 25-4 to Randolph-Macon College during a conference match on home turf Wednesday. 
Averett (4-5, 3-5 ODAC) tacked on two goals in the first quarter, all off the stick of senior Faith Bowlin as the result of a free-position shot. Randolph-Macon (10-5, 6-2 ODAC) carried a 10-2 lead into the second quarter. 
The Yellow Jackets continued to fire throughout the second quarter, gaining a 18-2 lead going into halftime. 
Bowlin opened up the second half with her 49th goal of the season. Junior Cayden Holdsworth scored the Cougars' final goal in the fourth quarter thanks to an assist by junior Lisanne Guiaux. 
Bowlin scored three of Averett's goals, while Holdsworth scored one for Averett's offense . 
On defense, Bowlin, sophomore Tiia Chrons, senior Sheyla Romero and senior Da'Janaeia Johnson each had one ground ball. Bowlin and Guiaux had one caused turnover each. Junior Caitlin Alperstein made five saves in goal for Averett.  
The Cougars are back on road when they travel to Lexington, Virginia for a conference match against No. 9 Washington and Lee University at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
