The Series: The Generals and Cougars have only met twice, with the away side taking all two contests. Their last contest in spring of 2024 went the way of Washington and Lee, defeating Averett 28-0 in Lexington, Virginia.  
Averett at a Glance: Averett lost 25-1 at No. 13 Lynchburg last Saturday night. Emmett Wood continued his great scoring season, netting the only goal for the Cougars. Prior to today's contest, three seniors will be honored, including Dawson Hobbs, Ty Pearson, and Brayton Powers. 
Washington and Lee at a Glance: Going to overtime for a second consecutive game, then No. 8 Washington and Lee prevailed over No. 13 Lynchburg 14-13 in an enthralling battle on April 9. Senior Joey Allen gave the Generals the clutch win not even a minute into the extra period. Jack Elliott led in scoring with four netters, and two more from the team scored hat-tricks.
