DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University women's tennis carried on into the postseason on a high note, besting Randolph College 6-1 on its Senior Day Saturday morning.
Averett (14-4, 9-1 ODAC) took the bottom two doubles matches with ease, only losing a combined two games to clinch the first point for the Cougars.
From there, the all-reliable singles lineup cruised. Despite a loss at No. 1 singles, Averett got great performances from numbers four, five, and six.

Annika Kellerer won their matches, while only losing a total of four games between the three.
Ravaka Ramanantoanina came from a set down to defeat Randolph's (9-8, 6-4 ODAC) Lize van Veen, with a 10-5 score in the final third set tiebreak.
Averett, with the second seed officially locked in, plays next in the ODAC tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 29, with the time and opponent to be determined.
