Game Notes: Averett vs. Shenandoah
The Series: Shenandoah leads the rivalry 35-15, and has won the last five games against Averett dating back to 2022. Last February in Danville, the Hornets took down the Cougars, 83-59.
Averett at a Glance: Averett lost 111-48 at Division I North Carolina Central in an exhibition game for the Cougars on Dec. 30, 2025. The Cougars shot better from the charity stripe than the Eagles, 60-percent compared to the home teams' 57.7. Kyjana Jordan and Zariia America led the Cougars in scoring with nine points apiece, and Jy'Lyia Mizell recorded three steals.
Shenandoah at a Glance: The Hornets moved to 10-2 with a 58-42 win versus DeSales last Saturday. Emily Williams put up a 12-point, 16-rebound double double, and two other Hornets recorded double figures.
