BRIDGEWATER, Va. — Averett University men's volleyball dropped a four-set conference opener on Tuesday night, falling to Bridgewater College 3-1.

Averett (3-3, 0-1 ODAC) won a close first set 25-23 but Bridgewater (3-11, 1-2 ODAC) took the next three to claim the match.

Sophomore Yerai Collazo led the Cougars' offense with 15 kills while senior Nicholas Breen had nine. Freshman setter Luke Brown finished with 27 assists, three aces and eight digs.

On the defense, freshman Aiden Williams had two solo blocks, while Collazo had one.
