LYNCHBURG, Va. – Averett University men's volleyball dropped a pair of matches on Saturday afternoon, with 3-0 losses to both Randolph College and Wilson College on Saturday afternoon.
Averett (3-8, 0-4 ODAC) had its fair share of moments in the two matches, but their opponents in Randolph (8-7, 2-4 ODAC) and Wilson (8-5, 0-0 UE) had the better edge in Lynchburg. Collective statistical leaders on the day included sophomore
Yerai Collazo in kills with 10, four blocks each from the likes of
Dominick Jenkins and
Nicholas Breen, 19 assists from freshman
Luke Brown, and 12 digs from
Liam Audrain.
The Cougars combined for seven blocks on the day, five of which were more than their second opponent, Wilson. Averett also had 46 digs as a team.
The Cougars return back to the Grant Center for a doubleheader against Randolph-Macon College on Wednesday, March 4. Start time for the first match, an in-conference faceoff, is set for 6 p.m.
