AMHERST, Va. – Averett University men's golf currently finds itself in seventh place following Sunday's play at the 2026 ODAC men's golf championship at Poplar Grove Golf Club. The Cougars are currently 3-over-par 288.
Freshman and 66th-nationally ranked
Chase Myers is the team's best golfer thus far at five-over, good for tied-12th. Freshman
Lukas Newton and sophomore
Benjamin Afzelius both are seven-over-par and tied for 16th.
Sophomore
Zach Always is tied for 40th at 12-over, and freshman Nicholas Santoso finished his first round at 16-over.
Fifth-ranked Washington and Lee University leads the conference's contingents at 16-over, while Virginia Wesleyan University's Brayden Tritsch is one-under for the solo lead.
Averett return for day two action tomorrow morning at Poplar Grove Golf Club.
