No. 71 women’s tennis ousted in ODAC championship at No. 13 Washington and Lee

LEXINGTON, Va. – No. 71 Averett University women's tennis lost 4-0 in the ODAC championship at 13th-ranked Washington and Lee University on Sunday afternoon at the Generals' Outdoor Tennis Courts.

Washington and Lee (20-2) won the first point with two doubles wins, then took care of the three necessary singles wins needed to claim the conference title. Averett (15-4) junior Siddhi Khot gave it a valiant effort versus the Generals' Allie Murrell, but fell 6-1, 6-3.

Despite the loss, it continued a streak of success in the postseason for the women's team, as today marked the Cougars' third straight ODAC title shot.

With a strong finish to 2026 and a national ranking to its name, Averett looks ahead to the NCAA selection show for a potential at-large bid into the national bracket. The selection show is set for tomorrow, May 4, at noon.
