DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University saw three members of the women's golf team named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team selected by the College Sports Communicators, announced on Tuesday. The three recognized were seniors
Sophia Marshall and
Hannah Walton, and junior
Cooper Perryman.
Marshall, who hails from Portland, Oregon, played in eight tournaments, in which she averaged an 81.4 scoring average and had seven top-25 finishes. The business administration major received the athletics communications service award at Averett's Night of Champions. This is Marshall's second straight All-District award.
Walton, who hails from Ringgold, Virginia, played in seven events with a 90.0 scoring average over 15 rounds. The history major was awarded one of the top female senior GPA awards at Averett's Night of Champions. The award makes it two straight years that Walton received All-District honors.
Perryman, who hails from New Bern, North Carolina, played in all eight events for the women's golf team this season. The psychology major averaged a score of 91.1, and set new 18 and 54-hole score bests, both of which came at the ODAC Championships.
