DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University wrestling head coach Sam Braswell '22 has announced the addition of Jasiri Dingle 25' to the wrestling staff as an assistant coach in July 2026.

Dingle was a member of the Cougars' team from 2021-25, in which he was a U23 Greco-Roman All-American at the World Team Trials, and a U20 Greco Roman All-American for the Cougars. 

Jasiri also plays key roles in administration outside of Averett wrestling. He is part of the Super 32 tournament staff, a tournament director for all of the Cougars home events such as the Cougar Open and the Cougar Duals, has played a key role in hosting the NCAA DIII Regional Championships in 2025, and the ODAC Wrestling Championships in 2024, and 2022. He also serves as the Director of Operations of the VA USA Junior National Dual Team staff with fellow coach Braswell. Dingle was also inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, made an All-ODAC Academic Team, and earned both Dean's and President's lists one time respectively.

Hailing from Stafford, Virginia, Dingle graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and sociology from Averett in the winter of 2025. He is pursuing a master's in business administration at Averett.
