WINCHESTER, Va. — Averett University women's golf representative
Meredith Pegram shot a 79 and carded a birdie on hole No. 17 in the final round of the Shenandoah Invitational to earn a top-10 finish over the weekend.
Pegram finished the round at 7-over par, giving the Cougars their first top-10 finish of the fall season in their first tournament.
Juliette Coffey of Batten University finished atop the individual leaderboard at 2-under par.
Methodist University won the team title, finishing the tournament at 28-over par.
The Cougars return to action Sept. 21-22 in Rockingham, Va., at the Bridgewater College Invitational.
