Kyle Lamantia '21 returned to Averett University as an assistant coach with the baseball program in July 2022 after playing five seasons with the Cougars from 2018-22.
A right-handed pitcher, Lamantia appeared in 43 career games, pitching 75 innings mostly in relief. He finished his career with 52 strikeouts and a 2-4 record with one save. He was named USA South Conference Pitcher of the Week once during his sophomore season.
In addition to his playing experience, Lamanta interned with Averett's Sports Performance Department in fall 2020.
A native of Chester, Virginia, Lamantia completed his bachelor's degree in sports medicine with a minor in coaching from Averett in summer 2021. He began pursuing his master's of business administration with a concentration in leadership from Averett while playing his final season with the Cougars in spring 2022.
