Sarah McGuirl, an assistant athletic trainer, joined the Averett University Sports Medicine staff in June 2024.
A native of Woodbridge, Virginia, McGuirl has a wealth of clinical experience. Prior to joining Averett's staff, McGuirl gained experience with the Chicago Hounds of Major League Rugby during spring 2024. She also worked clinical rotations with Division I Robert Morris University's football and cheer programs in fall 2023 and football, track and softball in spring 2023 and Allegheny Health Network in summer 2023, as well as other experience with high schools and various athletics events. McGuirl also interned with Carilion Roanoke Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation in 2019.
McGuirl, who played softball and rugby collegiately, graduated from Roanoke College in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science. She completed her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Chatham University in April 2024.
