Ben Harris joined the Averett football program in July 2015 as an assistant coach working with the defensive line. In 2017, Harris will specifically coach the defensive tackles.

A native of Warrenton, Virginia, Harris played four seasons for Averett as a linebacker from 2011-2014. In his last two seasons, Harris posted 75 tackles and made two interceptions. Off the field, Harris earned a spot on the USA South Academic All-Conference Team.

Harris earned his bachelor's degree in physicaly education from Averett in May 2015 and his pursuing a master’s degree in special education from Averett.  Â
