Dustin Beck was promoted to Averett University football's special teams coordinator in January 2019 after serving as a graduate assistant for the Cougars since March 2017. In 2020, Beck took over as defensive backs position coach after coaching running backs for three seasons since joining the program.

During his two seasons at Averett as a graduate assistant, Beck mentored the running backs as Averett set the single-game rushing yards record and ran for the most yards in a single season in program history during his tenure.

Prior to Averett, Beck attended Emory & Henry College, where he played quarterback n. During his time with the Wasps, Beck threw for more than 1,800 yards while scoring 17 touchdowns. He was selected as an All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference performer and also served as a team captain. Beck graduated from Emory & Henry in 2013 with a bachelor's in health and physical education and a master's in education.
 
Upon leaving Emory & Henry, Beck coached high school football and assisted in winning a state championship. In 2016, he worked with Division I East Tennessee State University as a defensive graduate assistant working with the secondary and linebackers.
 
Beck is currently completing his master's in business administration from Averett.
