Lake Hojnacki was named an assistant coach with the Averett University football program in May 2023 after serving as a student assistant during spring practice. Hojnacki coaches linebackers for the Cougars.
Hojnacki was a four-year member of Averett's football program. After beginning his career at quarterback, he moved to defense to play linebacker for his final two seasons. As a junior, he made 17 tackles in nine games with one interception and one pass breakup. A starter his senior year, Hojnacki had a career-high 10 tackles in the season opener, but an injury limited him to just two games with 12 total tackles, one sack and three pass breakups in his final season with the Cougars. Before changing positions, Hojnacki had one rushing touchdown on offense as a sophomore. In 2020-21, he earned football's service award at Averett's Night of Champions.
A native of Terrell, North Carolina, Hojnacki graduated from Averett in May 2023 with a degree in sports management.
