Stan Hodgin has been a member of the Averett staff since 2010, serving as its wide receivers coach.

Hodgin comes to Averett after coaching the past five seasons at nearby Halifax County High School, including the final three as the school's head coach.  Prior to his time at Halifax County, Hodgin was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for 13 seasons at Person County High School in Roxboro, N.C.

Hodgin graduated in from Carson-Newman College in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in Health & Physical Education. He was a quarterback on the 1984 NAIA national championship team. He also served as a student-coach on the school's 1986 NAIA national championship team. 

Hodgin is currently working on Master's in Health from University of Central Arkansas. He and his wife, Laurie, have four daughters, Ashley, Zoe, Kasey and Delaney.
