Tavaras Johnson

Tavaras Johnson joined the Averett University football staff in January 2017 as an assistant coach working with the safeties.
 
A native of Dinwiddie, Virginia, Johnson played three seasons for the Cougars as a safety from 2013-2015 under head coach Cleive Adams. During his time at Averett, Johnson recorded 57 tackles and one pass breakup.
 
He earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Averett in 2016, and he is currently pursuing his master degree in education from Averett.
