Trey Smith joined the Averett University football program as its director of football operations in April 2022.
Smith previously served as the running backs coach at NAIA Iowa Wesleyan University during the 2021 season. His coaching experience also includes time at Louisburg College and Needham Broughton High School in Raleigh, North Carolina.
A native of Troutman, North Carolina, Smith graduated from North Carolina State University in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Social Work. He's currently pursuing his Master of Arts in Management Leadership with a concentration in athletic administration from Iowa Wesleyan.
