Corey Baldwin is serving as a men's basketball student assistant coach for the 2022-23 season while missing the season due to injury.

Baldwin was the 2022 USA South Conference Tournament MVP after helping the Cougars win the USA South East Division regular season crown and the USA South Tournament title, sending Averett to the NCAA Tournament. As a junior, Baldwin led the team led the team in points and rebounds with 15.0 points and 7.3 boards, which earned him VaSID All-State Second Team and USA South First Team accolades.

Baldwin is a native of Henderson, North Carolina.
