Melanie Lewis has served as the program director for Averett University's Athletic Training Education Program since July 2017. Prior to that, she was the Clinical Coordinator for Averett's Athletic Training Education and an assistant professor at the university. Prior to her appointment as a professor, Lewis served one year as Averett's assistant athletic trainer.
Lewis, a native of Cascade, Va., earned her Bachelor's of Science degree from Radford University in 2007. She completed her Master's from High Point University in 2009. While at High Point, she worked with the women's basketball team, as well as the men's and women's soccer teams.
She is married to Kenny Lewis and has two children.
