Michael Brackett joined the Averett University men’s basketball staff as a student assistant coach in August 2016.
A native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Brackett comes to Averett from North Carolina State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in meteorology in 2016. During his time at N.C. State, he worked for the athletic department, assisting with game day operations and facilities. He helped set up and take down equipment for a variety of NCSU athletic sporting events and controlled various aspects of game day operations.
His coaching experience includes working AAU basketball camps and attending coaching clinics along with recruiting. Brackett is also the son of a former college basketball coach.
Brackett is currently pursuing a second undergraduate degree in physical education with a concentration in coaching.
