Averett University Athletics

Sergey Samoilenko is one of the faculty athletic mentors (FAM) for the Averett University men's basketball team. He joined the Averett faculty in 2013 as an associate professor of computer science and computer information systems and also serves as chair of the department. A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Samoilenko is a former competitive bobsledder, and he also competed in decathalons in his home country before coming to Averett.
