George Moore joined the Averett University men's and women's tennis programs as an assistant coach in August 2020.
A native of Westerly, Rhode Island, Moore came to Averett from his alma mater of Division II Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina, where he was a volunteer assistant coaching from 2019-20. Moore played collegiately at Belmont Abby, helping the program when the 2017 Conference Carolinas regular season championship and make back-to-back runs to the conference finals in 2017 and 2018. He served as a team captain as a senior during the 2018-19 season.
In addition to his time at Belmont Abbey, Moore also served as an assistant coach at Westerly High School from 2017-19, and he helped coach the team to the 2019 state title. Also was an assistant professional for Charlotte City Tennis from 2018-19 and a tennis professional with the Southampton Racquet club from 2019-20.
Moore graduated from Belmont Abbey in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in sport management.
